watercolor- class two, part B
I spent less time on this pear. I bought it as my model. It was the only brown pear brought to class. I didn't want to discriminate. It had a lovely color and yummy looking shadow. As you can see, I'm still unable to attain that color, weight and dimensionality. at least I got the bruises and scratches to a T!
This was a lovelier sketch than painting.
Watercolor- class two

I skipped class one, as we did a lot of discussing materials and blending. You don't want to see my color wheel. And if you do, we can schedule a private viewing...Class two involved pears. I was good at pears in high school. As you can see, i've been out of practice, and my pear is flat. I'll work on it!!
abstract acrylics - class two, part B
Same rules from below, applied here. this one isn't my favorite, i don't think it has a good side to sit on. i kept rotating it when i painted it, and it never found a top or bottom.
Acrylics - class two
Take an object, make sure it's 3d. on paper, map out only the darkest darks and lightest lights using your own coding for dark (<) and light (>). remove the object from your site, on yellow painted paper, use white and brown to express this light-map. then take two colors, created by blending two colors (each) and paint it in, cover all yellow, then add yellow back in...
Abstract acrylics - class one
Take small pcs of roofing material, take pcs of rectangular cut brown paper, place on base 1. not touching each other, 2. touching each other but not the border, 3. touching each other and the border. then paint 1. a very close-up cropped version of your fave of the above options, 2. any rectangle set up that you want to imagine. This is my fave!

Two art classes in the spring of 09
I'm taking two art classes at College of Marin. It's reminding me that I actually have talent and strengths in something and for some reason I was mislead enough to forget that and fail to practice those strengths everyday. Ah, such is life.
Rant aside- one is an abstract class in acrylics on Thursdays and one is watercolor basics on Saturdays. I have to say that after all my training, the most that I need is in committing and growing patience for, the art of creating a whole piece.
So! From here on, I'll post either all or just my faves from each class... if I'm lazy, which I usually am, I will just say a word, if I'm excited about it, you'll get a rant!
But let me start by saying these two teachers are great in very different ways!
